Accommodation in Kantiang Bay ranges from simple, inexpensive, family-run bungalows to private houses for rent, right up to the luxury, boutique 5-star hotel-service of Pimalai Resort & Spa. With a truly wide range of accommodation styles to choose from, there is something here to suit to every budget and taste. It’s not unusual for people to stay at two or three different resorts during their stay, to take advantage of the different views, vibes and atmospheres of the various accommodation options on offer.
There are eleven places to stay to choose from, of which, four are located with direct beach access. All the resorts, villas, hotels and bungalows in Kantiang Bay are situated within easy walking distance of the beach and local ameneties, so, unlike other areas of Lanta island, you don’t need your own transport – this gives the bay a relaxed and cosy feel. You are never more than a few minutes walk from the beach wherever you choose to stay. With only four resorts directly overlooking the beach, much of the beach itself is still undeveloped meaning you can easily find a secluded spot just for you!
Internet facilities are very widely available in Ko Lanta. Most resorts have internet access either via an internet cafe, paid internet access in your room or common areas in the resorts and some have free WIFI available. There are also plenty of internet cafes in Kantiang Bay if you do not have a laptop with you.
Ko Lanta has electricity available 24 hours per day, although power cuts are not uncommon. You can expect 3 or 4 very minor power cuts a week (lasting a few minutes) and about once a week the power may go out for 20 mins to a few hours. Quite a few resorts have back-up generators and can supply limited power during a power cut.

Most of the larger resort take bookings over the internet or by telephone – you can often contact them directly via their own website. Scubafish also offers a booking service to all the resorts in Kantiang Bay via their Resorts section. Scubafish also offers discounted diving and accommodation package deals and special offers if you would like to book your diving and accommodation together.
Pimalai Resort & Spa is Kantiang Bay’s most exclusive beach resort, combining subtle five star comforts, natural beauty and lots of space. Villas are situated on the beach and hillside at the south end of the bay providing stunning views across Kantiang, the perfect place for watching Ko Lanta’s spectacular sunsets.
Phra Nang Lanta Resort offers luxury rooms with a peaceful and romantic atmosphere and amazing views overlooking the bay. Their 15 uniquely decorated rooms have large private balconies, beautiful bathrooms and are equipped with satellite TV, DVD player and wireless internet connection free of charge. The resort has a pool, small restaurant and bar.
Baan Laanta Resort & Spa is situated just on the beach with Deluxe Pool View and Sea View Villas. The 15 stylish and elegant, traditional thai-style villa bungalows are quite spacious, have a large balcony, satellite TV, fridge, hot shower and offer great value in a beautiful setting. The resort also has its own spa ‘Baan Spa‘, offering treatments from Thai massage to complete body scrubs.
Eyes Lanta Resort is situated a few minutes walk from the beach on top of the cliffs overlooking the coastline. Each spacious room has a lounge area, ensuite bathroom, fabulous view and a private balcony with plunge pool.
Marine Park View Resort is set on the hillside at the north end of the bay and offers a wide range of accommodation from basic bamboo to stylish sea view bungalows, all of which are nestled in lush tropical gardens.
Kantiang Bay View Resort is an inexpensive, backpacker resort. The resort has a good selection of places to stay from simple beach huts to air conditioned bungalows and is situated right on the beach.
Top View Resort provides budget fan and air-con accommodation on the cliff top, with fabulous panoramic views across the bay and beyond. Even if you don’t stay here, it’s worth the hike up to the top of the cliff to catch the sunset and amazing panoramic views around the bay.
Sammy’s Residence is a great alternative to staying in a resort. With relatively spacious rooms, a terrace with fabulous views out over the bay, a fridge in your room if you require, and a 4-poster bed, Sammy’s offers an affordable, mid-priced room, just a few minutes walk from the beach.
Simply Life Bungalows are a small, family run guesthouse with cheap bamboo and concrete bungalows set in a quiet shady area of the main village. They also have a small coffee bar, restaurant, internet cafe and tour office where you can rent motorbikes.
Cashewnut Tree Bungalows are a group of small, inexpensive bungalows not far from the beach. Each small fan bungalow has a private bathroom with cold water shower, small terrace outside and are suited to long-stay visitors or backpackers on a budget.
Oriental Residensea is a group of spacious private villas to rent, only a short walk from the beach. Each villa has pool facilities and terraces with fabulous views out over the Andaman Sea.
The resort bars and restaurants offer a range extremely tempting range food and drinks and you should try out as many places as you can while you’re here. Baan Laanta’s Bay Front Restaurant has the best seafood BBQ on the island, for a romantic dinner with a great view Lanta Marine Park View’s Bay View Restaurant is the perfect setting, Same Same but Different offers fabulous sunsets whilst dining on the beach and Secret Restaurant at Eyes Lanta Resort has some of the most stunning sea views around.
For night life, Aqua Bar, Shroom Bar and Why Not Bar – all offer a relaxed and fun evening.
