Baan Phu Lae Resort is a small and friendly beach resort offering traditional-style, beach-front bungalows with breathtaking sea views out over Bamboo Bay beach. You can choose a double or twin room with fan or air-conditioning. All rooms have en-suite bathrooms with toilet and shower. They have a great little open-air restaurant.

The name ‘Baan Phu Lae’ comes from ‘Baan’ meaning ‘Home’, ‘Phu’ meaning ‘Mountain’, and ‘Lae’ – ‘Beach’. Strung together it becomes:

PLUS – Inexpensive, yet tastefully decorated, simple beachfront bungalows with charming, friendly and helpful staff. Great restaurant and bar located directly on the beach.

MINUS – Very quiet location, the road is fairy tricky to negotiate, especially after dark – if you’re a party person, this may not be the place for you. The beach can be a little rocky at low tide.

Ban Phu Lae offers simple, rustic, traditional-style bungalows, which are tastefully furnished, with silk throws and wooden furnishings. Private wooden balconies offer breathtaking views and blend in with the natural surroundings of Mai Pai Bay, where guests can enjoy the sunset over the Andaman Sea

At Baan Phu Lae Resort, you really can be close to the beach, with some huts on, or just next to, the beach. Some bungalows are set further back, higher up the mountain, in the surrounding rainforest.

Bungalow facilities at Baan Phu Lae include either double or twin bed, electric fan or air-conditioning, private bathroom with toilet and shower. Electricity is supplied all night.

The open air restaurant at Ban Phu Lae has a large menu and serves some fantastic Thai dishes. There are a few western items on the menu, but, in general, these are best avoided in preference for the Thai dishes which are cooked to perfection.

There are a few games including Connect Four, Scrabble and Backgammon available in the restaurant. There is also a communal satellite TV.

Ban Phu Lae also offers their guests traditional Thai massage, taxi and boat transfers around Lanta Island, Thai cooking courses, motorbike rental, internet corner and a gift shop. They are also happy to arrange day trips for scuba diving, snorkeling, elephant trekking etc.
