Sammy’s Residence is a group of five, large, concrete bungalows, located just a few minutes walk from the beach in Kantiang Bay.

Each of the five, stand-alone, bungalows is furnished with a fridge (on request), a 4 poster bed complete with mosquito net, coffee table and chairs, wardrobe and a large balcony with partial views of the bay. They also have en-suite bathrooms with cold-water shower and sink.

PLUS – Secluded and spacious, Sammy’s bungalows are of a much higher standard than most of the budget accommodation in Kantiang Bay. If you’re staying for a while, and don’t mind being self-sufficient, this is an excellent choice.

MINUS – This is not a resort, so there is no restaurant, bar or communal areas. Bungalows are situated very close to the Mosque and, although you get used to it surprisingly quickly, the call to prayer (5 times per day) is very ‘present’.

There are plenty of bars and restaurants within easy walking distance, however Sammy’s itself does not have either, making it a quiet hideaway.

Prices are very reasonable for the standard of the rooms and a good option for long stay travellers on a medium budget. Room cleaning is not provided, however clean sheets are available on request.

With slightly more spacious rooms, a terrace with fabulous views out over the bay, a fridge in your room if you require, and the quirkiness of a 4-poster bed in a Thai bungalow, Sammy’s offers an affordable, mid-range room, just a few minutes walk from the beach.
